How we run a lift test on a product page

Half of your ad traffic sees the old page and half sees the new one. Same offer, same price, 28 days. Here is the whole process, with the numbers from a skillet page.

How we run a lift test on a product page

A lift test is the simplest honest way to know whether a new page is better. Half of the traffic from your ads sees the old page and half sees the new one. The offer and the price stay the same, so the only thing that changes is the page.

How long to run it

Until the result is clear at 95% confidence or better, which for most stores is two to four weeks. We decide the length before we start and we do not stop early because the first week looks good.

What the skillet page taught us

On the Hollis & Pine test, the old page converted 1.41% and the new page 2.58%. The biggest single change was the photo: twice the size, one angle, no thumbnails fighting for attention.

Twenty minutes with your ad accounts open

Share read-only access before the call. We look at spend, tracking and the pages your ads point to, then name the three changes we would make first, whether you hire us or not.
